Support South Coast Singers

Your Financial Support

support SCSSouth Coast Singers is a nonprofit performing arts 501(c)3 corporation.  Although the choral musicians are all volunteers who generate revenue by paying registration fees and selling tickets, operating a high-quality group is expensive – costs include paying for rehearsal space and insurance, venue rental, sheet music, salaries for the director and accompanist, hiring instrumentalists for performances, funding the community outreach scholarship program known as “Stars of Tomorrow”, and much more.  Above and beyond the money generated through ticket sales and registration fees, South Coast Singers also depend on their partners – businesses, foundations, and individuals who invest in the group through program advertisements, grants, or tax-deductible donations.

Through your donations or by placing a program ad, you will be ensuring the ongoing enjoyment provided by this group of talented and dedicated choral musicians and that South Coast Singers will continue to thrive in South Orange County.

The South Coast Singers perform music that keeps stories alive and brings back precious memories.  After their concerts, their audience members often tell them their stories.  They reminisce about eras gone by, their greatest achievements and joys, their most inspiring love stories, and even their sorrows.  Your investment in the South Coast Singers allows the tradition of performing people-pleasing music to continue – music that captures the hearts of those who hear it at concerts and at community and civic events.  The singers contribute their time and talent as volunteers.  Every investment you make, no matter the amount, greatly improves the ability of the South Coast Singers to accomplish their mission.

Ways you can support us

Volunteer your Time and Talent

In order to accomplish their goals every season, South Coast Singers relies on the generosity of their numerous volunteers.  Administrative volunteers are needed to coordinate ticket sales at concerts, serve as ushers, coordinate refreshments, assist with marketing and fundraising, help with mailings, serve on the Advisory Board, and more.  The Singers are also volunteers, so if you’d like to contribute your vocal talent and become a part of the “family” of South Coast Singers, please check out the information on the Auditions page.

Sponsor a Concert, an Instrumentalist, or a Community Outreach Event

Corporate and foundation support provides the South Coast Singers with essential resources to share their love of music with the community at cultural and civic events.  The Singers have participated in Soka University of America’s International Festival on the Green, lent their voices to Christmas at the Mission (a celebration of the holidays at Mission San Juan Capistrano) and were selected to be a part of the more than 700-voice Disneyland Candlelight Choir during the holiday season.  The highlight of the corporate outreach program is Stars of Tomorrow, a vocal scholarship program.  For over ten years, talented high school vocalists from schools throughout Orange County have been invited to audition, with a chance to perform at the competition held in early spring each year.  Judged by prominent members of the music community, prizes totally $4500 are awarded in two categories:  Classical and Musical Theatre.  Several past winners of Stars of Tomorrow have gone on to perform with professional opera companies and on Broadway.

Corporate, Foundation and Private support can be specifically designated toward:

  • Specific concerts or concert series, including the holiday and summer series and Stars of Tomorrow
  • Community outreach, including the scholarship fund for young Orange County vocalists
  • Cost of an instrument/instrumentalist at a specific concert or concert series
  • General operating support

You might also consider including South Coast Singers in your estate planning.
